History

IMA’s principal first launched the Permatex brand of the automotive aftermarket adhesives and sealants in the Asia Pacific region in late 1992.

He also took the Permatex business in Asia from an export-oriented line with small sales in 1992 to a significant business with sales 5 times larger by 2000.  Manufacturing of the products was transitioned to Loctite’s China factory where they were produced with Thai, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and Korean packaging.

IMA’s principal launched the Teroson brand of auto body sealants and glass bonding adhesives in the Chinese aftermarket in 1998.  Today Teroson enjoys a multi-million dollar business in China.

IMA entered into an exclusive agreement in March 2000 with Meguiar’s Corporation of Irvine California.  Meguiar’s is the #1 car care line in the U.S. market.  IMA seamlessly integrated into the Meguiar’s executive team, expanding International distribution from 13 countries to over 90 markets plus 4 subsidiaries.  IMA opened a China Representative office and created a highly successful and profitable Korean consumer business for Meguiar’s.  IMA met its ten year sales goal in just seven years.  Meguiar’s Corporation was purchased by 3M Corporation in October 2008.  IMA continues its positive and mutually beneficial relationship with both Meguiar’s and 3M.  IMA is now actively looking for new companies and brands to take global.
